A bright, complex Western Australian desert honey with refreshing Jaffa-orange notes and moderate antibacterial strength — harvested from resilient Mallee trees near Norseman.

About This Honey

Collected in the remote desert landscapes surrounding Norseman, Western Australia, this honey comes from the hardy Desert Mallee (Eucalyptus spp.), a species that thrives in extreme heat, red ochre soils, and long periods of drought.

Its TA20 rating gives it moderate antibacterial strength, making it ideal for everyday wellness and immune support.

Desert Mallee has a warm, earthy scent, but the flavour is surprisingly bright and sweet. You’ll taste hints of chocolate-orange (Jaffa), soft rosewater and golden syrup, with a juicy pineapple-like finish. It’s a refreshing, sunshine-filled honey that tastes much lighter and livelier than its deep aroma suggests.
Winner of the 2024 International Artisan Flavour Awards.

Monofloral Honey (single-species Mallee nectar).

Made in small batches due to harsh desert conditions and frequent drought stress.

MGO/TA

MGO (Methylglyoxal)
Used for Manuka honey. Higher MGO levels indicate stronger antibacterial strength — from gentle everyday support to advanced immune and skin benefits.

TA (Total Activity)
Used for our Eucalyptus honeys (Jarrah, Marri, Blackbutt, Desert Mallee, etc.). TA measures the honey’s overall antibacterial strength, including natural hydrogen peroxide activity.

A higher TA rating means greater medicinal potency.

Whether TA or MGO, each measure helps you choose the right honey for your wellness needs — from daily support to targeted immune defence.

Testing
All Honey For Life honeys are independently tested at accredited laboratories, ChemCentre in Western Australia and Analytica in New Zealand to ensure purity, authenticity and medicinal strength.
