We take our honey quality very seriously.
At Honey for Life, we rigorously test our honeys to meet the Codex Standard, ensuring the highest quality and safety. Our testing procedures provide the necessary certifications for international export/import, adhering to the specific requirements of each country.
We also assess the bioactivity performance of our honeys, which is a unique characteristic of our products. The primary tests we conduct include:
TA (Total Activity):
Measured through a well diffusion assay test for peroxide-producing honeys, typically Eucalyptus varieties.
MGO and DHA:
Testing for methylglyoxal and dihydroxyacetone levels in non-peroxide honeys, such as our Manuka and Murchison River honeys.
Sugar Analysis:
Evaluating fructose, glucose, and sucrose levels to ensure they fall within the Codex Standard range.
Moisture Content:
Confirming the moisture levels are within the Codex Standard limits.
Our tests are performed at the ChemCentre in Western Australia and Analytica in New Zealand, guaranteeing accuracy and reliability.
